Alien Games over the Years
Many of them are great and some of them make us cringe, over the years many alien games has been made. In 1982 the Alien video game came out on the Atari 2600 and could not have been less related to the movie if it had actually been transmitted to us from another planet. They put Alien on the box, and then put Pac-Man in the cartridge, and genuinely hoped no one would notice. Development of the infamous Alien 3 movie went back and forth between arbitrary goals. Which is a bad way to make a movie, but an excellent plot for a video game. The game was gorgeous, because back then all you needed for great graphics was to look like you'd actually tried. Which this game did. The worst alien game of all times was E.T. with only five weeks to complete the game before production deadlines for the 1982 Christmas season, turned it into a terrible adventure game starring a cobra with legs, a variety of pits to fall into, and creepy old men that give chase. Perfect Dark is probably the best alien game of all time. It features not one but two warring alien races. What's so compelling about the aliens in this rare classic is how human beings just get caught in the conflict, and drawn in to something so much bigger.
